Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Mine was really nice! N goes big twice a year, Thanksgiving and Fourth of July. We had 17 people for Thanksgiving this year, N’s family, my parents, my brother-in-law’s parents, my brother-in-law’s friend (different brother-in-law) and a great couple friend of ours with their kids.
We started prep on Wednesday evening after a major shopping trip to the nearest Asian Market.
We enjoyed some oldies as we prepped, seen below is one of my favorites, The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B.
Thursday saw our table set, and our menu well under way.
Our menu:
Hors D’oeuvres – Franks in Blanks – the only store bought thing.
Butternut Squash Soup
Pumpkin Soup – this was a new recipe and sadly, a bust.
Turkey
Gravy
Stuffing
Fried Chicken Tenders
Cranberry Sauce
Sweet Potato Bake
Green Bean Casserole
Green Beans with dip
Fennel Salad – Kitchn Synch recipe
Panzanella Salad – Kitchn Synch recipe
Pumpkin Pie & Pecan Pie – both made by N’s sister and both awesome!
N has this method of smoking our turkey on the ceramic grill with a dry brine, it was delicious!
My mother-in-law should be on Pinterest, she knocks out super creative things like this veggie platter all the time.
A plate of our Thanksgiving bounty.
My friend brought over this awesome fruit platter, she too should be on Pinterest.
Have a great weekend everyone!!
