N and I threw a big 4th of July barbeque on Sunday, the 3rd. N was at the grill from 8 am until 5 pm.
Our menu included hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled chicken, grilled corn, pulled chicken sandwiches, smoked vegetables, baked beans, hotdog onions, spicy chicken wings, white bbq sauce, and more. My mother brought a quinoa salad, N’s mother brought a trifle and a friend brought pies and sangria. We had a nice crowd of thirty or so, mostly family members. A couple more friends were supposed to show but didn’t in the end.
The watermelon stars are something I am quite proud of. I am not so good at the craftsy type skills, but I saw a picture of the watermelon stars and loved the idea. After a long while cutting slices of watermelon and then cutting out stars, I actually ended up with a nice plate full of pretty nice stars.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that the food on the tables looks like an after pic. Sadly, it is, I flaked and completely forgot to take pictures until halfway through the party when most of it was eaten. Poor N, he put out such an awesome spread, and there are no photos.
