Last night N and I made the first meal from Kitchn Synch, Chicken Lettuce Cups and Pad Thai Ramen Noodles.
We started out with our protein:
Ground Chicken
And our oil:
EVOO
We opened up the Odds and Ends package to find:
1 package Ramen Noodles
1 Head of Bib Lettuce
1 Clove of Garlic
2 Scallions
1 bag Cilantro
1 Egg
1 container Sweet Sauce
1 container Soy Sauce
1 container Lime Juice
1 container Sesame Oil
1 little tub Brown Sugar
1 bag Red Pepper Flakes
Overall the ingredients were in good condition, my one complaint was the head of bib lettuce, which was browning already, it seemed mostly ok so we had it anyway and it tasted great. I was especially impressed with the egg which had been packaged with care and survived the shipping with no issue.
Ingredient Freshness: B+
The meal didn’t require any fancy techniques but we needed a lot of bowls to make it, thankfully I could just load them all into the dishwasher but it was a full load.
Ease of Cooking: A-
It was a fairly recipe taking approximately 30 minutes.
Speed of Cooking: A-
The recipe instruction was clear and easy to follow.
Recipe Instruction: A
This recipe was tasty. We both enjoyed it. The flavor of the ramen was excellent and the chicken was very tasty. However, both the chicken lettuce cups and the ramen noodles were soft with the only texture change coming from the lettuce which wasn’t much different so we left the meal almost wishing for something to chew.
Taste: A-
Both N and I were a little hungry after this meal. I had a little bit of leftovers that we had in the fridge to fill up.
Filling: B
The meal looked almost exactly like the picture.
Looks like the Recipe: A
All of the ingredients were easily findable except for the sweet sauce. We have no idea what it was except that it was very tasty. As it was the main flavor in the chicken that makes this recipe impossible to recreate. So the ramen noodles is definitely on the remake list but the chicken in lettuce cups sadly is not.

Overall we were very happy with this meal!
Overall Grade: B+
Note: Salt and pepper were not included in this meal kit so we used our own.
