It’s hard to believe that I haven’t discussed 3D printing before as it is of particular interest to me. I have found so many great bits about 3D printing and wanted to post it all here.
This great infographic is from Stephen’s Lightouse.
This is a great video that shows the possible futureof education by Intel. It combines the use of computers and 3D printing for an all new type of hands on learning.
3D printing can be used to print almost anything. Boingboing had an article about making model cars with a 3D printer. It includes a youtube video which shows that the car wheels actually turn so it is a functional model. Jay Leno uses a 3D printer to create parts for his cars. Gizmodo has an article about using a 3D printer to create models of musuem statues.
3D printers are being used with food as seen here with burritos and here with chocolate.
3D printing is also being used for health purposes to create medicine as shown here and to create organs as shown here.
There is no end to possible uses for 3D printers. I am very excited to see where it will go next.
