J.K. Rowling, the famous author of the Harry Potter series, recently opened a new website. The site is called pottermore.com. The site currently only contains the option to submit your email to be notified when the site opens, and this introductory video.

 

Many are speculating about the nature of the site and what it means for books of the future. This article discusses the possibility that sites like pottermore hold a new direction for books. A socialization so to speak. It will allow sites to be hubs for readers to connect and interact with digital material from and based in the world of the book (in this case Hogwarts, etc.). I find this to be a fascinating idea. Can’t wait to see how it ends up…
