We watched Slow Fires a few weeks ago in the Archives class.
It was obviously old, not only because it was on VHS but because the people have huge glasses and wear old fashioned clothing. it talks about about older methods and the librarians fit old stereotypes.
It’s a movie about how acid is eating or burning our books.
It was interesting for many reasons.
Every female librarian fit the stereotype with a bun glasses pursed lips stern looks, etc
The method most talked about was microfilming. This both shows the age and the shortsightedness of the video.
I think it should be redone to cover more contemporary methods because it has a very important message that is still very relevant.
